Ethical conundrum’s and therapeutic solutions when working with children who have been abused

Join us as we delve into the ethical dilemmas that clinicians face when working with children who have been abused, as well as exploring various therapeutic solutions and the importance of the therapeutic relationship as the vehicle for change which will be supplemented with a clinical case presentation of a parent child intervention and discussion.

Facilitators' biographies

Sable Leicher: Sable is a psychodynamically informed educational psychologist who works with infants, children, adolescents and families. She is interested in early intervention to promote secure attachment and mental health. Sable works with Ububele interns and supervises psychological assessment. Sable has been at Ububele since her own internship, and has remained passionate about community work and mental health in South Africa.

Sherylene Ganesh: Sherylene is a psychodynamically trained community-based counselling psychologist. She hopes to create positive change and foster empowerment through her work in the community. She is passionate about working with children and in parent-infant mental health. Sherylene provides psychotherapy to parents, adolescents, young adults and families with a wide range of challenges. She is dedicated towards helping individuals, children, and families reach their optimal potential.
