NICU Psychosocial Support

A baby being admitted into NICU immediately after birth is a very stressful experience for both the parents and the infant. When admitted in hospital, infants lose out on crucial building blocks of attachment such as co-regulation,child-led interataction and proximity to their attachment figure. The overwhelming and unexpected medical concerns can leave parents stressed, anxious and even traumatized.

In collaboration with Edenvale Hospital, Ububele provides weekly supportive visits to infants and their families while the infant is in the NICU, walking alongside families through this stressful journey, and sharing ways to support infant development in this time.
